How this site is researched

What this site is
etchwpstudio.com is an independent analysis of a public product pivot: how EtchWP, a community-funded WordPress plugin sold with lifetime deals, diverged from Etch Studio, a separate hosted subscription built on the same Svelte interface. Every dated claim on the site traces to a public source listed on the sources page or cited inline on the page where it appears.
What it is not
This site is not affiliated with Digital Gravy, Etch, Automatic.css, or any competitor named in the articles. It is not selling a product, a course, or a newsletter. There are no affiliate links and no comment section. The analysis stands on its sources, not on a personality behind it.
Sourcing standard
Vendor blog posts, marketing pages, YouTube streams, and the public changelog are preferred sources and cited by URL where live. Stream quotes include a timestamp so readers can verify them in the recording. Email broadcasts are quoted by date and subject only; the messages themselves are not republished. Statements from the vendor's community platform are paraphrased without names, avatars, or screenshots, and are marked as community-sourced when they appear on the timeline.
One claim per sentence. Dates go inside the sentence. Confidence is attributed in the sentence itself: “confirmed on stream” versus “discussed by community members.” Quotes that reflect unfavorably on the vendor use their exact words, with date, venue, and a verifiable link where one exists.
How stream quotes are edited
YouTube auto-captions are the working transcript. Published stream quotes are cleaned for readability only: filler and stutters removed, obvious speech-recognition errors in product names corrected (for example “Edge Studio” → “Etch Studio”), ellipses marking omissions, nothing else altered. Each stream quote links to the watch URL at the timestamp where the words appear. If a quote cannot be verified against the recording, it does not ship.
Correction policy
If a fact here is wrong, it gets corrected and the change is noted in the reviewed date. Send corrections to hello@etchwpstudio.com. Pages marked with high volatility (pricing, LTD terms, release cadence) are re-checked when the underlying facts change. Being wrong once, loudly, would convert this site from documentation into a grudge. Accuracy is the whole point.
Why there is no author name
The site publishes under an editorial policy so the analysis is evaluated on its citations rather than on its author. Discussion of this topic in vendor-controlled spaces has been heated, and a named author invites argument about the author instead of about the record. That is a deliberate editorial choice, stated plainly, not an omission to be decoded.
Disclaimer
